2. 02

   Lake McDonald

   • Stay local — no long drive.
   • Lake McDonald Lodge, the colored rocks, and a shoreline ramble
   • Optional boat hour on the lake if it fits
   • Sunset from Apgar

3. 03

   Trail of the Cedars

   • Stay local — no long drive.
   • Lake McDonald colored rocks, then Trail of the Cedars
   • Avalanche Creek gorge — Avalanche Lake only if the kids still have legs
   • Easy evening in Apgar or West Glacier

   Apgar Village or West Glacier (limited west-side lodging)

4. 04

   West Glacier → Many Glacier

   • Drive West Glacier → Many Glacier
   • Going-to-the-Sun Road to Logan Pass (seasonal — the high section often opens late June)
   • Hidden Lake Overlook boardwalk if it's open
   • Wild Goose Island, then check in at Many Glacier

5. 05

   Many Glacier

   • Stay local — no long drive.
   • Swiftcurrent Lake loop or the boat toward Josephine
   • Don't start a long Grinnell hike unless the group is game
